Welcome changes come with spring

Field of sunflowers under a cloudy, blue skySometimes Minnesota weather can give you whiplash. With the way the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming, it’s hard to believe we were shoveling snow a few weeks ago. Winter didn’t seem to want to leave this year, but now that spring has finally hit its stride things are changing fast. Looking ahead a bit further, SWIF’s new fiscal year is coming up on July 1and with it there will be even more changes to look forward to.

Testing has begun on the new community portals, and soon we will be providing training for board members. These changes have been a long time in coming and will help all of us do our work more efficiently. Here are few of the activities and actions you will soon be able to do online:

  • View fund balances and amount available for spending
  • View community foundation grantmaking history
  • Share and submit grant applications
  • Complete and submit donation forms
  • Submit expense payment requests
  • Make requests to activate new project funds
  • Update board rosters

Having these actions take place online will provide you easier access to your fund information, eliminate duplicate data entry and connect information directly to our existing database.

As fiscal year 2018 comes to an end, please check your mailboxes and get any donations to us prior to July 1. Also, any additional grant requests need to reach us by June 8 to allow time for processing before fiscal year end. Thanks for making this a priority, and happy spring!
